Google Talk

Drudge and the internet have been a buzz with news that Google is introducing an IM client that will have text and voice abilities. If Google continues with its history of introducing quality products, Google Talk could be the next killer ap.
About 15 years ago I read a book by Arthur C. Clark in which a side issue was the affect of all long distance charges being dropped by phone companies. Mr. Clark stated that the global economy exploded because people now could communicate with ease. He also pointed out that more people were being jarred awake at 3AM by annoying foreign relatives that forgot about the time difference. Google Talk will allow people to chat across oceans without those annoying bills. I am also sure that Google will have or soon introduce video.

No More Hurricanes Please

Actually, the winds that did this damage were barely tropical storm strength. The local National Hurricane Center station (which can be seen from the upper window) recorded only 60 MPH winds. Why so much damage you ask? The answer is that the kind people at "Lifetime Aluminum" in Tarpon Springs Florida did not nail the siding to the house. So of course it fell off make matters worse, Lifetime Aluminum did not stand behind their work. Even when pieces lacking any nail holes were brought to their office for them to see: DO NOT BUY FROM LIFETIME ALUMINUM IN TARPON SPRINGS FLORIDA.
